Moving Checklists

We want to help you make a successful move.

Moving is an exciting time, but it does come with plenty of unique responsibilities. We've created the checklists on this page to provide answers to some of the questions we hear most frequently from our tenants. We hope this will help you make the proper arrangements for your move.

Your first month's rent payment and security deposit are both due at the lease signing.

Our team will schedule your move-in date and provide all information about the initial inspection at the time of the lease signing.

As a tenant of the Blackstone Group, you must place all accounts for your rental property in your name. Please do this immediately upon taking occupancy or you could lose access.

Move-out Checklist

Notice of Intent to Vacate

If you're planning to move out of your rental property, please provide written notice for our team. Refer to your lease to determine your legal move-out date. As a reminder, you are responsible for rent through this date, even if you vacate earlier.

Property Condition

Your rental home must be returned to us in its original rental condition. Please take care of the following:

  • Rental Cleaning: Your home must be properly cleaned upon your departure. Please take the time to vacuum/sweep/mop all floors, wipe down walls and hard surfaces, and sanitize the bathrooms and kitchens. You also should remove all garbage from the property.
  • Landscaping & Outdoor Areas: If your rental home has outdoor space, please take care of chores like mowing the lawn and moving garbage to the curb once more before vacating.
  • Repairs: Did any damage occur in your rental home during your stay? Take the steps to resolve issues like discolored paint, broken glass, and nail and screw holes. For larger issues, work with us to find an amicable solution.

Security Deposit

The security deposit for your rental home safeguards against any damage that could occur during your stay. We will perform a final inspection when you leave the property. If we identify any new damage, we will make repairs and deduct the costs from the deposit. The remainder will be returned to you.

Please remember, you cannot use your security deposit to pay your last month's rent.
